Santa....?

Isn't it interesting how we in the western world celebrate Christmas? Think about it....the biggest part of Christmas for the non-religious is Santa. A kind and thoughtful man who doles out gifts....if you've been good. He forgets about nobody; He knows everything about you; He sees you all the time. His whole existence is centered around you.

Now take God. He is the kind, thoughtful Creator who made you. He is also the wrathful Judge to stand in awe before. He gave the greatest gift to us while we were yet sinners- His Son. Our being good has nothing to do with His gift to us. He not only knows you; He knows how many hairs are on your head, He knows your every secret thought, He knows your heart. Most unlike Santa though is the fact that His whole existence does not center around you- it centers around Himself, for He alone is God! Well, that and the fact that God is real!

So think about that season. Think about God Almighty, how He is not like Santa, and how much He loves you....that He gave you His Son.
