Valentine's Day

When I was growing up, I LOVED Valentine's Day....it was always a very special day in my family. Upon waking up, I'd rush downstairs and find my special place at the kitchen table...there would always be a card from my parents, a heart-shaped box of chocolates, and sometimes even a flower from my Dad. It always made me feel so cherished. Well, now that I too am a parent, I want to pass along that feeling to my children. So today was a great excuse to lavish some love on Mia and Noah! Mia and I had fun making Valentine placemats for the whole family, complete with hearts, sparkly letters, and red paint! We celebrated as a family around our kitchen table this morning, it was so special! Valentine's Day is also a good excuse to remind our children of the Greatest Lover there ever was- Jesus Christ. Of course we as parents love our children- but our Heavenly Father loves His children far more than we ever could. How comforting it is to bask in the Father's Love for us, like the song says, "how rich beyond all measure" is the Father's love for us!
