First Camping Trip

So, after weeks of anticipation and preparation, our family embarked on our first-ever family camping trip (which means we took Mia with us). We arrived at the state park where we were going to camp, and unloaded the car...carrying all our gear down the trail to our "walk-in" camp site. After we unloaded everything, we began to set-up our tent.....only to discover that I didn't bring the tent-poles. SO....Joe drives back home and finds them. An hour-and-a-half later, he's back. With a flat tire. A flat tire complements of an iron arrowhead from India. What are the chances?! To make a longer story shorter, we packed up and went home only 20 hours after we set out. We were, thankfully, able to keep everything in perspective and laugh about it....we thought it'd make a hilariously realistic family vacation story to share!

So the moral of the story is.....Satan likes to attack us in whichever way he can, and just because we go on "vacation" doesn't mean he does! We have to keep extra-aware of his tactics.

Notice the exhausted, sunburned look on poor little Mia's face! She had just woken up from her nap when she took this picture!

So, next time we go camping, we're going to make sure we have tent-poles, and a really big umbrella!!!
