Welcome to our new blog page! I have to admit I am pretty new at this, so bear with me as I figure all this blogging stuff out.
We hope you are all as excited as we are about our new direction of entering into full-time ministry and seminary! (We believe that all Christians should be in full-time ministry, no matter where they live or what their occupations are. I am using the term "full-time ministry" to indicate the change that has taken place as far as Joe quitting his teaching job and beginning an internship at our church.)
If you were to come over to our house right now, you'd find it mostly dismantled, with boxes all over the place. We are in the process of looking for an apartment here in Denton to move into within the next week. We've gotten renters for our house (in order to cut down living expenses), so now we just need to find another, cheaper, place to live. You can pray that this will happen soon, and that it will be exactly where the Lord wants us! This is all new for me, I have never experienced moving before as an adult, especially with my own household to pack up and care for.
These past few weeks the Lord has been teaching us, and especially me, how to literally wait on Him. I am still learning that, and I know I have a lot more to learn.....trusting Him and waiting for Him are a lot easier said than done. I know that He has a plan for us and I am excited to see what it is, it's just hard waiting for Him to unveil it!
For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about.....here is a quick update. Joe was working as a teacher until this summer, when he quit his teaching job to take on a part-time internship at our church instead. This will allow him the time to go to seminary at Dallas Theological Seminary beginning this Fall. He has gotten several scholarships which will fully pay for seminary. However, the job at the church will not pay enough for us to live on, so we are also raising support and I will be nannying to help make ends meet. Our end goal is to pursue ministry as Joe's vocation, whether it be overseas missions, church staff, pastor, youth minister, etc. We are not sure exactly where we will end up, we just want to be prepared for wherever the Lord takes us.
We'd love to hear from you.....send us an email and let us know what's going on with you too!
